Audiostatic electrostatic loudspeakers work essentially as microphones in reverse. They use no crossovers to artificially create a frequency division that does not exist in the source. The new designed back of the loudspeaker frame carefully controls the free air resonance of the elements. Together with the mirror-drive interface this results in an extremely fast and well controlled reproduction of low frequencies.

The audio signal is direct coupled. It has been routed from the amplifier into the four step-up audio transformers and to the electrostatic element without passing any crossover components. This results into a much improved impulse handling, more dynamics and an extended frequency range with more deep bass. The mirror-drive interface is a fifth transformer that feeds the four step-up transformers with a mirrored signal correcting the mismatch at low frequencies caused by the capacitive load of the loudspeaker. This results in a much better bass response and a more linear impedance.
